Laurie Ann and John were married at St. Bart's Catholic Church in Manchester, MD. Their reception took place at Laurie Ann's family farm in Westminister, MD. Since March, their families have been refurbishing the barn which housed the cocktail hour and dancing. They replaced all of the siding and flooring, wired it for electric and created a phenomenal area for their reception. Old, exposed beams create such warmth and that's where everyone wanted to be. To top it off, Laurie Ann designed and made her own wedding dress as well as the dress that her mother wore. Their dresses were just incredible. Chivaun wanted to catch the colorful leaves at Patapsco Valley State Park in Ellicott City, MD before they disappeared for the season. We did! There were a few brilliant trees left. On Sunday, Lynsie and Ryan met me at Cylburn Arboretum for their engagement session. With the fall colors here in MD not exactly brilliant, we managed to find a few very colorful ones. The first time I met Miriam and Eric, I walked away so excited to work with them. They were both warm, friendly and just enjoyable to hang out with. Lauren and Colin's wedding took place on a waterfront property in Baltimore, a property that she and her brother grew up running around and exploring. So many pieces of her family were thoughtfully woven into the details of their wedding. Lauren's mother made her veil, designed and quilted their huppah, and crafted aisle entrance doors. These doors through which she and her mother walked were like a passage to this new journey on which she and Colin were embarking. Lauren's bouquet was carefully wrapped with a piece of her grandmother's dress. Frank, her daddio, performed the ceremony. Her wedding was a blended gift of fine sentimental detail. Lauren wanted her wedding to feel like a giant hug. A warm embrace it was, one that you walked away from feeling so connected to her, Colin, her family and friends. Capturing her details, these pieces their children will be able to look back on, the stories that will be told as they look through these photos, that is why I do what I do. Silvia and Mark were married at Martin's West in Baltimore this past weekend. Silvia and Mark and their families were so awesome and relaxed they made me feel part of the family. Jessica and Vinnie were married at Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards not far from their hometown. What a picturesque farm and vineyard to celebrate with family and friends and such a sweet couple! Carrie and Ari's wedding was the perfect blend of rusticity and class. Sweeping white fabric and draping globe lights transformed shelter #300 at Patapsco Valley State Park in Ellicott City, MD. The ceremony began with a decoration of the arch by family and friends where Carrie and Ari would stand to declare their vows. Carrie and her parents arrived in a '69 Citroen as the procession started. The rain held off until after dinner. When it started raining before their first dance, Carrie and Ari decided to embrace it. They walked onto the stone patio and performed their first dance to "Singin' in the Rain." Couples took their cue and joined in. Parent dances followed and then the skies opened up. So many memories were created the evening of Taylor and Justin's wedding. Their July wedding with a theme of "red, white and brew," was showcased in every detail.
